ST Racing Concepts STRC Slash 2wd Universal Driveshaft kit

Carrying over design and material selection from our HPI Blitz and Associated SC10 universal kits, our Slash 2wd universal kits features large diameter universal driveshaft bone for more durability against the power of today’s Lipo battery/Brushless motor combo, the heavier weight of short course truck, and larger diameter of short course truck tires.

We also used the same carbon steel material for axles, which features two sets of universal pin holes so you can get twice the life out of the same set of axles.  The universal joints and joint pins are of carbon steel material as well and the pins features a “step” for the setscrew to have a flat spot to more securely hold the universal driveshafts together.  Lastly, even the universal shaft roll pin at the end was not over looked.  Carbon steel at the pin although strong will unfortunately add excessive wear to the diff outdrives, thus a different material was selected just for the shaft pin for durability and ease of wear on the diff outdrives.

ST Racing Concepts STRC Light Weight Chassis Components for ST5822 Slash 2WD LCG Chassis conversion kit

With the increase popularity of our LCG conversion kit for the Slash 2WD (ST5822), we now introduce carbon fiber and fiberglass light weight chassis components to make the truck even more agile and to allow racers to tune for different weight bias and rear traction needs.  We now offer the upper chassis plate in 3.0mm graphite and the lower chassis extension piece in 3.5mm fiberglass.  Combine use of the two parts will save over 17 grams of weight.  Also available now are replacement anodized aluminum bottom plates.

The Event

09.00 – Booking in open (Although to help us gauge numbers/heats then
please use the online booking in)
09.30 – Drivers Briefing
10.00 – First Heat

Apex Models will be in attendance with a well stocked selection of mostly Short Course orientated spares, supplies and accessories on the day.

The Coverage

Full coverage of the event will be both online and within Racer Magazine as soon after the event as is possible.

The Race Format

4 rounds of heats and a final for all.

First round of heats will be determined by the self certification of ability when booking in. This is solely there to help us arrange the first round of heat listings, after that, the listings will be arrange from fastest to slowest on the day.

Each Heat will be a maximum of 10 Drivers.

All Heats and finals will be a grid start.

Each heat will run for 5 Laps as a guideline minimum, if all have enough battery capacity on the day to do more, then we'll certainly be looking to extend this to give more track time for all.

The track layout will be changed for each round of heats to add variety/challenge!

After all heats from Round 1 are complete, the times will be used to form a new heat listing, fastest to slowest, again chopped into heats of no more than 10 drivers.

After all subsequent Rounds of heats are complete, the cumulative fastest times from all heats will determine the new heat listing for the
following round.

After all 4 rounds, there will be a set of times cumulative for the day showing who has been consistently the fastest throughout, this will form the Finals heat listing.
 
Finals will be run with slowest finals run first, ending in the fastest set of drivers final.
 
This format will hopefully encourage consistent competition throughout the 'Round' phase of the day and give a running indication of who's getting better/worse, etc.

The Grid starts suit electric and the 5 lap completion should again encourage racing against each other rather than just the clock.

The only way to get into the 'A' final will be to run fast and consistent ALL day.

The Rules

The event is meant to be a one-off fun day and will hopefully attract a lot of casual and new racing interest, If you have any questions then do ask beforehand by posting up on the Adur RC off road forum area, or on the day ask one of the team who will make themselves known. All drivers must have BRCA insurance unless they have never raced before, they will need to either show their BRCA card or declare this on the day, it is down to the Race director's decision as to whether you race or not (This is for our insurance, so please understand).We will have Handout transponders available on the day for use without charge, please ensure they are returned to the charging rack immediately after your heat for others to use and look after it as if it was yours. They cost a lot of money!
1/10 scale Short Course trucks only, they can be electric or nitro, but any nitro's will be expected to be ready when the electrics are on the grid. Any nitro Short Course Trucks will race in with the electric trucks. All vehicles must be an original 1/10 Short Course kit, no converted 1/8 buggies, etc.!2WD and 4WD Short Course will be separate. No electric motor limit. Batterylimited to 8 cell Nimh or 2 cell Lipo packs (Capacity will need to be enough for roughly 5-7 minutes or more). Wheels and Tyres must be Short Course 1/10 sizes, no 1/8 buggy wheels/tyres used with conversions. All trucks must be fitted with a Short course body shell. Cost for the full day's racing will be £10 per driver to be paid by cash on the day to the race director.

The Weather

Clearly this event is to an extent 'weather permitting'. As such we will post up onto the main Adur RC website home page a definite Running or Cancelled statement that will be decided the day before, 11th. September at 18.00. Please check this before travelling.

ST Racing Concepts CNC Machined Aluminum Front Steering Upper Plate and Front Chassis “H” Brace

Greatly reduces the flex and increase the strength of the front end of your Hyper 10SC with the combination of the steering upper plate and the Front Chassis “H” Brace.  The upper plate tightens up the steering and provide much stronger support for the upper arm mount, while the “H” brace further increase the strength of the front of your Hyper 10SC against hard impacts.  Direct bolt on, no modification required.  Anodized in racing Gun Metal.

ST Racing Concepts CNC Machined Aluminum Center Diff Bulkhead and Light Weight Delrin 42T Center Spur Gear

CNC Machined from high-grade aluminum, the center diff bulkhead takes away any flex of the stock plastic piece and ensures your center diff spins perfectly true.  Anodized in racing Gun Metal.  The Light Weight Machined Delrin 42T Center Spur gear helps reduces the transmission noise of your Hyper 10SC while adding efficiency and more importantly increases acceleration.  Weighing in at barely 4 grams, this Delrin spur is nearly 1/5th of the weight of the stock steel spur (18.5 grams). The Delrin spur gear is also thicker than the stock piece, giving the pinion gear more gear mesh contact for more durability.

ST Racing Concepts CNC Machined Aluminum Rear Chassis Brace and Mount, CNC Machined Aluminum 12mm Hex Adapters, and Graphite Center Plate w/Alum. Stand-offs

The CNC Machined Aluminum Rear Chassis Brace and Mount consist of three precision machine pieces: The upper brace mount, the chassis brace, and the lower brace mount.  The three components provides a much more rigid rear chassis support that tightens up the rear chassis of the Hyper 10SC while adding a bit of weight to the rear of the truck as well (picture shows silver prototype, production will be anodized gun metal).  The 12mm Machined Aluminum hex adapters mounts on the axles perfectly and will not round off on the edges like the plastic pieces, providing a sure fit with today’s popular 12mm hexed SC wheels (Proline, J-Concepts, stock Hyper…etc.) The Graphite center plate is light weight and features two holes up front for AMB transponder mounting, and the aluminum stand-offs replaces the kit plastic ones with more rigidity and great looks.  Anodized in racing gun metal.
