JConcepts New Releases – Pressure Points SCT Tire

JConcepts, a leader in Short Course performance with accredited victories around the world, including back-to-back ROAR National Championships, has added another piece to its successful racing arsenal. The Pressure Points are the latest low-height tread option specifically designed to tame high-speed courses with either wet or blue groove traction conditions. The design starts as an angular, low pin design as a carryover from the successful Bar Codes front tire line-up. The small “points” combined with “lower case” Y elements developed on the original Bar Codes V1 rear tire provide the ultimate in surface area “pressure” penetration and tack.


The inner side-wall has built-in ribbing which limits carcass collapse and increases support on the outside during hard cornering and driving. The new inner ribbing, combined with the included JConcepts Profiled closed cell insert, is a perfect match to provide the ultimate in support, traction and consistency.

In the movies, it’s been said that loose is fast and on the edge of out of control. In our world, loose is slow and off the pace. The Pressure Points are designed to be driven hard while maintaining the grip necessary to drive at the limit. The edges of the side-walls have been carefully rolled for a smooth transition during corning which limits traction-roll characteristics and allows the driver control during the all important tipping point every driver has experienced.

Just like all JConcepts tires, the Pressure Points are a proven winner. JConcepts driver Ryan Maifield won the 2011 Reedy Truck Race of Champions in the 4×4 class utilizing the Pressure Points in green compound.

Boom! TLR’s Dustin Evans signs with JConcepts for 2012.
JConcepts is pleased to welcome 2011 ROAR National Champion Dustin Evans to the 2012 racing team. One of TLR’s top drivers, Dustin brings versatility to an already speedy JConcepts driver line-up. The Denver, Colorado, native has ascended through the World rankings and established himself as a winner while being one of the few drivers capable of competing in 7 different classes of competition.



TLR’s Dustin Evans struck early and often in 2011 with an Invitational victory at the Reedy International Race of Champions and maintained his winning ways at races such as the Short Course Showdown, JConcepts Fall Indoor Nationals and Hot Rod Shootout. Dustin peaked during the ROAR Off-Road Nationals where he was able to take home the prestigious 2wd modified National Championship.

Dustin will begin a busy 2012 race season for TLR / JConcepts as he looks to repeat at the Reedy Race of Champions and then immediately turn his attention to the Dirt Nitro Challenge where he will make a 2012 1/8th off-road debut while he readies for the IFMAR World Championships later this year.

Monroe Carbon Fiber Battery Braces

Battery braces are a highly visual and critical part of any electric R/C vehicle. They provide the security of the main power source on the vehicle as well as provide a look and feel to each vehicle while giving the user a quick way of accessing and performing a battery change or routine maintenance to the vehicle. The Monroe battery brace by JConcepts is highly functional and aesthetic eye-candy, designed from genuine 2.5mm Carbon Fiber, it performs as good as it looks. With so much variety in today’s batteries and with most vehicles having a flexible mounting position forward and aft, functionality is always a top priority. With the Monroe battery brace, running different battery positions is possible while maintaining the necessary terminal clearance and providing a healthy holding force to keep everything in tact even in the most demanding conditions or the inevitable crash. The voluptuous shape, combined with exotic material and surface finish, tops off an all important look to the vehicle from the inside out.



For best results use JC #2160 or AE #1787 thumb screws for the most secure placement and quickest installation. Carbon Fiber is a conductive material, always neatly route wiring and keep terminals as far away as possible from material. Running battery terminals in the rear position provides the most clearance and peace of mind and is highly recommended.

SC10 Rear Body Mount Brace

Short Course trucks are very body sensitive. The proper body style, cut-outs, overall weight and roll characteristics can determine a properly handling vehicle. The SC10 has a very flexible rear body mount which provides several durability advantages but when it comes to performance, having a sturdy base to the body is critical. JConcepts rear SC10 body mount brace performs just as the description suggests and supports the body mount in high-force situations.



While in the turns, the weight of the body hangs down in the rear and allows the body to flex toward the tires which cause unwanted handling and aero changes which may contribute to an ill handling vehicle. Simply install the brace as instructed and the body will now remain in a more standardized position on high-bite conditions and during hard corning.

One of the more critical adjustments on the rear of the Associated 1/10th off-road vehicles is the rear hub carrier roll-center adjustment. Associated conveniently makes 3 different bolt-on rear hub towers for these vehicles in the A,B and C configuration. JConcepts now offers the A,B and C hub towers as Carbon Fiber components to slim out the rear hub carrier assembly while still providing the strength, simplicity and look that carbon fiber is known for. No difference when they are from JConcepts, but if you get the premount Sub Cultures from Team Associated then they will have the white foam insert.
