Could you explain the anti-squat stuff..... I'm a little confused as to what it is and how your change affects it. Thanks.... | |

| I guess I did the opposite of what i wanted to accomplish so I went back and reversed it to the rear to add PRO-Squat as I wanted a little more stability in the Corners.. Anti-Squat is best described as Caster for the rear wheels…it changes the relation of the inner hinge pins parallel to the ground. The more anti-squat the vehicle has, the less the suspension will squat during acceleration. Anti-Squat is most effective from a stand-still. TUNING WITH ANTI-SQUAT Most vehicles allow the adjustment of Anti-Squat in similar ways: somehow adjusting the height of the front or rear hingepin mounts of the rear suspension arms. Adding Anti-Squat will make the car Squat less during acceleration. This will cause your car to track straight on straightaways. It will also make your car push coming out of corners, but loose entering corners. Less Anti-Squat will result in the opposite: a little less forward traction, more stable entering corners, and will track through bumpy sections much better. |

| Feb 5th Results: Headed to the track with the new Chassis and new track layout and due to the Superbowl we were only going to run 2 qualifiers and mains. Only 2 other racers showed up in Sportsman so it was a light day but the top 2 in points were there and thats what mattered. 1st Qualifier: Headed out 1st due to being 1st registered and out ran the other 2 racers to post a 15.506 qualifing time and TQ 2nd Qualifier: Headed out 1st and I think he watched to much of the X games casue he used it as a Glory run and did not even run hard but still finshed mid pack ( ha ha out of 3 ) with a 16.610 and didnt break anything. ( or did he ) Main: TQ and started 1st built up a 3/4 lap lead within the 1st 2 minutes and was in control, then as I was getting ready for my C-main I noticed he was slowing. At the 1 minute mark 2nd place was within a 2 seconds and closing. The kids truck just didnt have any forward momentum thankfully 2nd and 3rd spent most of that minute on their lids or it could have been bad. The kid went on to win and post race told me he ran the last 2 minutes full throttle and never lifted. After post race tear down I found the Speedo burned up on his truck and was barely hanging on during the race. It will no turn the motor with any load on it now. Motor runs fine on my speedo so I ruled out the Motor. So needless to say were in the market for a new speedo. So if anyone has a Mamba Max, Sidewinder or element combo..... LOL!! My results : Once again chased the handling all day, Ended up in the c main and finished 3rd missing the bump up for the 1st time.. Owell its still fun!! | Good News, Good News.. Well Spoke with the fine folks at Traxxas today and they were able to diagnose the ESC issue. Turned out it wasn't completely the ESC. He is using the stock TQ 2.4 radio and the 50/50 switch has a glitch in it and is losing contact so the ESC is not responding. after a little adjustment we are back in business.. Have a new MMP on order but the kid soesnt know that yet...LOL so that will be his end of the season reward. |

| Race 9 2/19/2012: Rough day at the track today, Due to the way this points series is set up its Best 6 races in the 10 race schedule, With today being race 9 of 10. Heading into todays race the kid was sitting in second place 99 points back due to missing the race last weekend. The leader was not in attendance so we knew going in a solid finish would put the kid right back in the hunt. After our speed control issues last race and resetting everything to factory defaults all the EXPO adjustments I made to his truck had been lost and I simply forgot to readjust them in. so needless to say the truck was a handfull and fought a loose condition all day. After holding the TQ spot for the 1st 2 rounds he was bumped from it in the Final qualifying round putting him second going into the main. With the Landrush starts almost always resulting in carnage in the 1st turn he made the right move by hanging back and letting the race come to him and not over driving the 1st turn and getting caught up in the mess. For the 1st few minutes all was going well, Running 1st with a solid 4-5 second lead and clear track infront of him. Then it all went away, the loose condition he fought all day was back and he was driving a little bit to hard and started making little mistakes allowing the field to make up time. Running second after a small bobble it all went away coming out of the final turn and onto the front straight he clipped the inside rail and flipped the truck on the roof. Leaving not only time on the track but the Battery pack as well. After QUICK Reinstall and getting him back on the track losing only a lap to the leader I realized in the rush to switch the transponder from my truck to his I inadvertently left a retainer clip loose allowing the batter to become loose. So after that he was really pushing too hard and ended up 4th.. Not the finish he was looking for or expecting but a finish that pulled him back within 2 points of 1st place.. My day wasn't much better, Decided to try 4x4 sct today so borrowed a buddies SCTE Losi and gave it a go! Broke a Shock cap in practice and after further inspection found both front A arms to have stress cracks in them so after replacing them and getting a couple laps on it pulled out the 2wd and in less than 30 seconds was hit head on by another truck and snapped the chassis and upper chassis brace on my SC10. So back to the shop for a chassis, after getting the truck tore down and put back together with 10 minutes before the 1st heat it was time to race. Qualified Good enough for a 5th place B-main start and Ended up 2nd getting the final transfer to the A-main. My First Amain appearance of the year so I was pleased. Finished 7th in the a main. 4x4 was a totally different animal and with this particular truck had way to much motor causing a balance issue. The Owner runs a 1/8 scale MMP and Cast motor in it and getting the power to the tires proved difficult. The truck was nose heavy was a handfull to say the least. But made the A main and finished 5th Last points race for the season takes place on 3/4/2012. Its shaping up to be an exciting finish for the Kid and with a sold finish and TZ he can steal the series win fron the leader. But like ive already talked to him about a 2nd place finish in his 1st indoor season to Back up his Track Championship from the outdoor season is nothing to hang his head over. |

| Here we go Again, Last points race of the 2011 Cheese City Xtreme indoor Series. Heading into Tomorrow 2 points separate 1st and 2nd in Stock sportsman with The Kid trailing by 2 points. Its so hard not to coach him and tell him what he needs to do right now. But I don't want to get in his head. Come race time he knows what he has to do. Basically he needs a TQ and to finish 1 spot ahead or finish 2 spots ahead to clinch based on average finish. My season has come around and with a good showing I can slide into the top 10. But I will need some help. Well see how it goes.. In other news: We were drawn as the winners of a PROTEK Duo Charger in the BMiller Racing / Amain hobbies Raceteam website launch contest this week. So the pit bag just got a bit heavier. And we launched our 3GENracing facebook page at 3GENRacing | Facebook Come by and check it out.. Also working on the new race bodies for the 2012 outdoor season. And putting the final touches on our 1st Race team Sponsorship program. Hopefully we will be able to unveil the news soon!! |

| Round 10 Update: As already stated The Kid entered the day trailing the overall points lead by 2 points. We have had several new entries each week so the competition has been closer and closer each week. Heading into the 1st round of Sportsman he ran basically the same set up he has run over the past 2 races with only a minor Spring spacer change. The 1st round yielded a 2nd place finish with a 9 lap pace. Fast lap 23.442 compared to the leader 10 lap 22.749. These are 4 minute races. Round 2 : He moved up to a 1st place finish and also set a new TQ with a Fast lap of 21.2333 and a Race pace of 12 laps. Round 3: Rounded out qualifying building on his TQ pace with a fast lap of 18.033 and a race pace of 13 laps. Also made a spring change went to LOSI Greens out front with 8mm of spacer and LOSI Yellow in the rear with 12MM of Spacer. A-MAIN : Started on the pole and at the tone had nothing but open track in front of him. In the very 1st corner the point leader took him out and he fell back to third. Stayed calm and after a mistake by the leader took over the lead and never looked back. Knowing he only needed to finish on spot ahead of the point leader he found his groove and stayed smooth only needing to be marshalled twice over the entire race. It was by far his best race of the year and you could feel the confidence he was carrying over the final minutes. The points leader was 2-3 seconds back and would make up a little bit of ground but never could get any closer. The race was The kids to lose. He went on to finish 1st with the extra point for the TQ. Points battle came down to 1 point with The Kid pulling out the win. Finishing the season with 3 wins, Needless to say the 2hr drive home was all smiles and happy talk. Mostly about his now 2 championships in his 1st season of Racing.. |
