Default MIP Thread!!!!

Hi guys, this is Matt over at Morre's Ideal Products better known as MIP. I would like to start a new MIP based thread so I can get some feedback about our products. The good, the bad, and everything in-between, bring it all on ! I'm the customer service/ tech guy over here so if you have any questions, or need help, make sure to hit me up.

We also have a couple new products in the works, the first of which is our Realshocks Bypass 1 product. Check out Velocity RC Magazine's vid for a detailed overview with Eustace Moore (MIP Owner).

visit vrcmag.com for the vid

Enjoy!

Regards,

Matt

Just got the rest of the parts to finish my new front x-duties this morning. Just put the protrac kit on it last week and was excited to run today but it's raining hard. I have a slash 4x4 with a 2200kv 1/8th scale motor and have thrashed it on 3s with rear x-duties for several months now. When I tore them down to replace the male bones (due to the protrac kit) they had very little wear! Glad I purchased these! Only thing I would like to see is a 6mm option for the outers. I did have a slightly bent outer.

We're looking into it, its just if we have the demand for it. We can make the product but people may not buy the things. Are they breaking? Alot of slop?

Slop and too skinny for me. Don't under estimate sales...MIP means business when you guys make something. I have MIP parts on just about every rig of mine.

Bought MIP cvd's for the slash. Kept blowing off. No matter what i used to keep the set screws in they would blow off. I then heard you upgraded your set screws. Tried them again. This time i broke an axle when i cleanly landed on the down ramp. Tire just rolled off. Too bad. You have a lifetime warrantee right? I do like the way the truck drives with them. Broke at the point the pin goes through.

Also, i purchased new pins recently from you. Based on the shipping price of $8 i just assumed you were sending it priority. Its a 2 oz package so that is about $1 in first class postage. You sent it first class as you can see in the above pic. It did not make it in time for the PNB.

Jason-I had the same problem with both my rear stubbies breaking without crashing. I just messaged mip on facebook to see what they can do. I hope they will eventually come out with a 6mm like the teknos. I like the sliders of the mip's and the 6mm of teknos. Hopefully they get it figured out as my $120 xduty's are just sitting in my parts box. These were new and only lasted for a few batts before both stubbies broke. I don't bash, just race on my home track. I not only hope this is warrantied, but more importantly that the brittleness has been figured out. A lot of other guys haven't had this problem, so I'm hoping I just got a bad batch.

On the set screws- It took me a while but I figured out that when you slide them onto the small axle coming out of the differential, don't push them all the way in. You want to line up the set screws of the mip's with the hole on the diff axle so they barely sit in the hole. I used blue loctite and they held great for a couple batts until the stubbies broke.

Yea, i did the same. I think i have gotten the set screw problem figured out. Soon as i did i broke the stubby. Off they came and went back to traxxas plastic.

We don't have a lifetime warranty on our products, our warranty is more based on what the customer is putting their equipment through. Because jumping off a two story house isn't under warranty ... I do see the axle snap at the pin hole time to time and its no secret that thats the weak point on those drives. When people are running heavy all aluminum cars with a grip of power and nothing seems to give, that axle will. As we speak we're working on a design that will complete stop axle breakage and will be available within the next month. I'll post some spy shots when were closer to production to give you guys a sneak peak. As for your axle send me over your full contact information, phone #, address, and a note of who you are and that you broke an axle, also send that pic over to me as well . I have emails all the time so its hard to keep track of everyone.
