Default Aluminum beadlock wheels? shelf queen only?

I got some aluminum beadlock wheels the other day and was surprised to find the beadlock rings are so small that they barely hold the tire on. Has anybody else used these with any luck? I contacted the seller and told him about this and he seemed surprised that they barely work.
They were listed on ebay for $63.00 per pair (2 wheels) or make offer. I sent him several offers and he counter offered at what I fealt was a good deal. I'm a hobby machinist and I know it would have cost more than that just in the time I would charge someone for setup. The design of the wheel itself is great and so is the quality, but the rings are just to small. At this point I'm tempted to use contact cement to keep the tires on, It just defeats the purpose of buying an aluminum beadlock. Input appreciated.
Thanks!

I know it would be a pain in the ass, but machine some wider rings and maybe cut the rim a little wider too, for the wider rings, or maybe look on line, might be able to find same style but a wider ring, I get what you are saying, wider is more surface area to grip better, I get yeah. cause I been looking for bead-locks for Exo, and did see those exact same rims or very close. Maybe a different tire selection, try some short course tires, those rims are 12 mm 2.2/3.0 correct.

Thats an excellent idea. Maybe I could make the rings out of carbon fiber or plastic with titanium flat head allen screws countersunk into the rings.

Yea they're the 2.2x3.0 wheel with the 12mm hex. I've tried mounting badlands 2.2x3.0 tires and I can pull the tire off the rim easily with the beadlock rings tight.

wow that sucks, do they recommend a certain tire for those to work right and lock the bead, have you tried a stock tire from a Exo kit. Cause when I goggled bead-locks for a Exo your rims come up. So maybe there designed for the stock Exo kit tires. I suggested short course tires cause they are 2.2X3.0 just like the stock Exo tires. Maybe the tire wall has to a certain thickness for it to lock the bead.

I took some pics of a front and rear stock Exo rim and tire, the ones in you pic look like front rims. so maybe there different widths, I'm curious now, the only thing I see is the lip on the outside of the tire, so those are three piece rims correct ???? I lost my train of thought sorry.

check these out, I found them on flee-bay, the rings look pretty small too. they like look multi-piece aluminium rims. they look close too stock. They look like, they only lock on the one side, not like Axial 8 hole 1.9" or the 2.2 rock stars rims with rings on both sides. so how do they work.

I don't think those will lock at all, they're just 3-piece glue on's

I contacted the seller again on these wheels. He said he will take them back and reimburse me. So for anyone who was curious about these wheels, they are not true beadlock wheels, the inner lock works, the outter is just a beauty ring
