ran a set of "belted" ofna slicks other day during a top speed run. these tires say belted on them but i dont see anything differant in there then any other tire. anyway.... at 72.6mph the tire came apart with a thwack, snap and pop noise and my truck goes out of controll at high speed. not good to say the least. so i call ofna and ask whats the deal. they said "thats to bad, try running the sweep tires, our tires are only good to maybe 60". Really? wtf, whats the damn belt for then? were is the post on the website saying this? why no offer to replace them? they are naming off a differant company and telling me to run those. well thanks for nothing ofna and yes the sweeps are on the way. needless to say that ofna costumer service is on par with the worst in the industry and i will NEVER buy, sell, trade or steal an ofna product ever again. just plan sad imo.

You sure it wasn't your glue job that came apart first then tore the tire from the side?

| Those tires are not belted. The pic you have there is clearly not a belted tire, but I would also say the our tire is going to handle so much speed and so is Sweep, they also say about high speed runs are not guaranteed and this is at your own risk. Of course the belted is going to take more speed runs more often but will still breakdown and deform at sustained high speeds. We see and hear alot about speed runs but the only way you can keep a high speed tire together for several runs would be a capped tire and no one makes those unfortunately. | OFNA does not offer a mounted belted slick. The mounted tires are non-belted |

They are trash anyway... I've had them shred on me too. The actual belted ones. There is no RC tire worth a $hit for speed runs. The belting is super thin whatever the choices are. I love my Hyper 7 and 8.5, but the GTP 2e I bought has me never wanting to buy an OFNA again. I know, a little off the topic. But where else can I complain about toy cars?!?!?

I forgot to say: I read that a company named GRP used to make some of the Losi 1/8 tires and they are what you need. They aren't belted, but they are thick enough to not need any belting. Do a search for GRP 1/8 tires, or GRP "rallygame" tires. They have a somewhat V-shape tread and should hold up to 130+mph with proper gluing. I don't own them, but they are on my list of "things I need."
