Default Gearing SC10 13.5 2WD

Having a hard time selecting the correct gearing for this truck. I run on a medium sized indoor clay track. I am running a D3 13.5 motor in blinky. I am currently geared 26/84 and it gets a bit hot coming off at 184 after a 10 minute run. I tried a 21/84 and 23/84 and it lacked top speed for the streight. I see everyone else running 26/75 but that would heat things up more then 26/84 wouldnt it? My dad has a redline 13.5 running 26/75 and he only gets to about 140.

Also I keep hearing these claims of a lower pinion will increase low end torque but I just dont see that happening. The only thing noticeable is less top speed.

Just trying to find the sweet spot. What are you guys running with your 13.5's? My D3 is 3600 kv.

I am still fighting gearing also

I ran a 26/75 with my Reedy Sonic 13.5 and after 5 mins was 250 degs.

Called AE going to try 29/78
or a few other

What motor are you running Brent? I think 25/84 is going to be the ticket. I just installed it and will try at the track tomorrow. I am also running beadlocs not sure if the extra wheel weight is adding heat. I might try some different wheels.
