If there are enough entries, the rules for Novice will be the same as Stock 2wd. This means that anyone wishing to race in the novice class needs to preregister so we can make sure proper awards are made

AE's new Factory Team SC10 uses J Concepts rear tires and should be released before this race. Since this tire comes in the kit will it be allowed in stock class? Just want to know before I make the trip.

Very surprised to see this allowed in Stock 2wd, but i guess what most tracks are running as a "stock" class is really a "spec" class:

"Chassis/Suspension:
Open to any and all option parts intended for the use on SC vehicles
Minimum Weight:
2100g Minimum Weight"

This is really nice to see. Our track is very restrictive on what's allowed in "stock". Meaning no after market servos, radios etc.

"Electronics:
Open to all servos, brushless speed controls, Transmitters/Receivers (the use of a 2.4GHZ Radio System is strongly encouraged).
Battery:
6 – 7 cell NiMH Style Battery Packs or 2-Cell LiPo or LiFe Type Battery Packs Only.
Motor:
Must use a 17.5 Turn ROAR Approved Brushless Motor From ANY Manufacturer. Labeling On The Motor Must be Clear."

For the 4wd Small Block, are the HV motors a 550 sized motor?

lol....just pushing the rules JD! This isn't a ROAR Nats race and if I do make this trip I want to know the exact rules before I attend. I don't understand the difference between running aftermarket tires in stock if your allowing any manufactures tires to be run on any vehicle. Plus any electronics can be run but not tires? Why not do a handout tire then? Make it a more even playing field if thats what the goal is.

The JConcepts tires on the FT SC10 will not be allowed in Stock. This truck was announced AFTER the rules were made and published as well.

The New Novak HV Motors are considered 550 in size. I am not sure about the older motors.

We were considering a handout tire but at this time we decided to limit it to RTR tires. Reason being is to limit choices and to try and avoid tire wars. We picked these tires because someone who just bought a truck could use what they already have.

We WILL have a spec tire in 2011.

As for electronics, no 2wd truck currently comes with a brushless esc so we had to open things up in that area.

The rules for big block 4wd say that the vehichle must be 1/8 scale, my redcat aftershock is the size of a slash 4x4 or hpi blitz but it runs on two 2s lipos so which class does it fall into. In a sense, I am still running 7.4 lipos and I am following the rules, but I just happen to have two of them in my truck

Well, you will need to cut it down to one battery pack for it to race in the Small Block class.

Cool, i'll have to get one of those jump plugs (whatever they're called ) that closes the other connectors circut. I'll have see how it compares to a slash 4x4 on 2s, I am a bit affraid it will be REALLY slow

A jump plug is easy to make. If it is slow try to re-gear it, that may help.

For the 2WD stock class, will a stretched Rustler chassis be allowed to be used for the 2WD Slash?

looking to run stock and mod with it. shouldnt have to change anything except for tires and motor to go between the 2 classes.
