Default Tire size ? Explanation ?

Can we get an explanation of tire size ? I am confused

my 1/10 SCT specs are 12 hex, 1.9; but ost everything i see while shopping is 2.2 or 2.2/3.0, 2.8, etc

so, is this tread width, diameter top to bottom, wheel size size bead to bead inside or outside, and so on ???

cheers, roger

First off, welcome! Second, what type of SCT are you working with? The 12mm hex is fairly standard among SC wheels (although there are a few exceptions). The 1.9" refers to the wheel diameter. The industry standard for SCT wheels is 2.2/3.0", referring to the outer and inner bead diameters respectively.

Thanks Elmo -
That’s what it was looking like; 2.2,3.0. It’s a redcat caldera SC 10E; 12 mill, 1.9 OEM. I got some mounted 2.2/3.0s incoming figuring I might have to do a bit of body trimming and or steering adjustments to accommodate.
Cheers, Rog

Well, it seems that I need to go back and review my caliper use. The Caldera wheels are 3.0, imagine that. It also helps to measure the wheels on the inside rim .
Thanks all, Rog

Yeah if I remember the Caldera was proportioned oddly. It is really tall and has a shorter wheelbase than a standard SC. Have you had any issues out of the ball cups? They were notoriously tight on the ball studs inside the links.

There shouldn't be any issues with the tires rubbing the body as the outer diameter of the stock tire was close to, if not larger than, a traditional SC tire.
