Default Which battery for stock short course racing

I've decided to jump into 2wd short course racing since it's most popular at my local track. I was told 17.5 motor and esc on blinky mode I'm a little confused but so far I know I getting the losi 22 3,0 sct 2wd with eco power 17.5 motor (Amain hobbies brand) and xr10 sensors brushless esc. What I'm more confused on is what batteries to run in this truck looks like will only fit the shorties but not sure what MAH or C rating for the stock class any info would help thanks also not sure what hearing to start with on my high traction clay track longest straight away is about 75 feet

There is all kinds of C rated packs out there. I'd get the highest C rated pack you can afford for spec class racing. Something like the SMC packs, but they are, a lot of times, out of stuff. Have a look at Pro-Match Racing....HERE.

We run mod, but in our area the Voodoo Cells team seems to be kicking everyone's butt in the stock/spec classes. I would contact them for a recommendation. One of their Stock SCT drivers, Jim Chase has been dominating with a 22SCT 3.0, so I'm sure they can steer you in the right direction. They also offer dyno tuning on spec motors, and should be able to give you a good starting point for gearing. These days, a 60C pack probably isn't going to give you enough punch to run with the fast guys IMHO.
