As the title says, Im looking in to buying a Losi SCTE- 4x4

I was looking to put this motor/esc combo in it
: Speed Passion Silver Arrow V2.0 1/8th Scale Brushless ESC/Motor Combo (2200kV) [SPA816801V2M22] | RC Cars & Trucks - A Main Hobbies:

As i have heard nothing but good things about it, money will be a issue for me thats why cheapy eletronics will be going in

But other then the tuning kit/tires,

What will i need to have this race ready??
I already stole matt sunderlages setup sheet so ill be good for diff / shock fluid.

I have been running it lime it came out the box a d have been doing very well. Recently changed diff fluids and it got even better. About to do some shock tuning. After a while new chassis a d tuning kit to put it over the edge.

How would that 1/8th scale combo work out? Would it fit? Would I need a different motor mount?

Motor should fit. With 2200 kv it might be a dog though.

Yeah the stock rtr motor is 2400kv. That one will probably not be so good.

The stock RTR motor is 2800kv not 2400. The Castle 1415 motor is 2400kv. Even with a 20T pinion the 2800 will not have the same top speed as a Pro4 or Castle 1410-3800.

Moneys kinda tight so I'd like to stay in a budget

Hate to say it but the MMP for esc a d the tenshock 401. I'm just not a castle fan any more. Got the MMP with BEC wired in if your intrested. Will cut ya a deal.

LOL not a problem. I understand. Don't really have a problem with the products just the support behind them.

Another option is the silver esc with the 401 or even the sensored 411. That combo would put you around 200. The 401 is 65 so would be cheaper that way

The Hobbywing ProSCT esc and tenshock motor works well too.

What about a viper 4pole motor and the copper vx4 esc combo?

People have raced them and have done well. You can race almost anything but its about how you like the feel of it. But in short yes you can.
