Default Kyosho CS SUCKS!!!!

My buddy broke his 3rd axle in less than 2 weeks of having his car. We just built our track and it does not have any jumps larger than 2'. He took the first jump today and his 3rd axle broke...

He call Kyosho on monday to ask if they would warrantee his 2nd front he broke on a whoop area of the track last friday and they said since there were no complaints on the fronts they were not going to replace it. And today he broke the other side front.

He has had his truck out to the track 5 times, less than 6 battery packs on it and he is about to give up on the Kyosho brand all together. This is also his first SC truck and he is thinking of getting something else.

If anyone from Kyosho is reading this, you should really think about your customer service. I've had a ZX5 and loved it but after seeing this happen to a friend I will not buy or recommend any of there products.

Sorry for the rant, vary frustrating having someone come into the hobby and get treated like this.

" sucks" is rather general... I agree to the fact that Kyosho has a habit of ignoring customers, though at least the distributor overhere in the EU does. PArts are hard to come by, so, I order from amain.

On breakage: well, yes, the Ultima SC and DB are absolutely,Pathetically worthless as bashers. Nose-dives and rear-ending will almost always break the pivot blocks.

On the other hand: they are light, nimble, fast, and I regularly beat the guys with the big SC brands on our artificial grass course.
I am about to replace ALL axles with HPI and Tamiys stuff. HPI blitz axles fit.

The problem is that the plastic hexes warp terribly when the wheels are subjected to lateral forces. Axles continually break at the point where the little steel pin goes through. I replaced the rdiculous plastic hexes with aluminium clamping ones. Haven't broken an axle yet, not even with a ridiculously overpowered 5.5 xceleron.

For someone just getting into the hobby, I would ALWAYS advise against Kyosho. Your buddy better get himself a Blitz, or even a Slash. Muuuch better choices for bashing. ( and won't get brittle when it's cold outside. Overhere it's winter. Kyosho's can NOT stand any temp below about 8 degrees C . Cold turns them into porcelain, something I really hate about the material Kyo uses for it's suspension)

Shame that Your bud' s first meeting with SC's is such a disappointment.

Yes I have the alum hexes too and I have never broken an axle. I have also heard that the alum rear hubs help too. Personally I have never really broken much on my SC-R.

Call this place and order these. 99% of the ppl (Chuck is the 1% lol) on here have not broken or bent one since. This is the best way to go since they don't acknowledge the issue anyway. They are awesome. BTW...the RB5 breaks them too but not as often.

Not" I talked with Fast Lane today and they told me they have
way to many broken and bent SCR rear axles being returned by many
racers not just me. I'm the only one that seems to be speaking up
though"

They have made a few changes over the last few months without
getting any better results. They are about to make more changes
in hopes of stoping these problems.

They seem to be deticated to getting this right so we all can have
rock solid axles to ride on

I'll buy your SC-R if you don't want it. Love mine.
