Default Battery selection

Well, I think ive convinced myself to keep the Jammin. With it sitting next to my work bench in an unopened box has driven me nuts and now im going to build it. I am looking at a few different 8000mah packs since my first choice using LIFE isnt going to fly. Will a 20-25c be sufficient using a 550 motor? Im looking at Thunder Power and SMC packs, both 8000mah. Would I be better off with 540 motor using this battery? So far the only thing I have is the servo (Hitec 7955) and the Esc (MMP).

An 8000mah pack with the 540 will cause heat issues, you will never use that much juice before the motor fries.

20-25c's should work but you want 35c ideally.

My Neu motor draws so much juice that it puffed a couple of very expensive, high mah, high c batteries. The last two weekends of racing, I have been testing these with great success.

Even at the end of a 10 min. main, they still act fresh and have plenty of punch.

i had it up for sale at Fear Farm last Thursday, but I decided to keep it and sell all my gas stuff. The sound of nitro annoys me now, and I used to be hardcore nitro only.

The whole 540 overheating isnt true. I ran a tekin 7.5 with a high torque rotor all summer long on a huge outdoor track and could run a whole 5600 battery through it and it would top out at 145-160 on the hot days. The only time it got close to hot is when I was first testing my timing range. Now I have it dialed and no issues. My truck has the top 4 fastest laps in 4x4 SCT at our track. 3 of the laps were with someone else driving. Plus I get close to twice the run time that the 550's get. I am kind of glad tekin took so long to get their new motor out.

Also a 8000 wont fit in the battery track. you will need to modify it or make a new one.

You can fit 5, almost 6 (6+mm too long), A123 26650 cells on end. That's 38-46Wh of battery power where has the mythical 2S 8000 LIPO pack is 59Wh and the 2S 5000 LIPO is 37WH.

I am getting my SCRT10 tonight and I have a 3S A123 pack. I'll see how realistic this set up is.
