Default Tranny fix

I have set out to fix the god awful tranny in this thing... Tired of the terrible design. I am most likely putting in a traxxas slash tranny still utilizing the 4wd

HI, I solve the tranny problem with a new bearing and a hand made shim to lock the axle movements. Try to lock better the tranny bearing with a piece of plastic on the bearings and close the spur cover. I blow a spur gear but not for a wrong shimming but for a wrong pinion distance from spur gear. Now my trasmission have not noise and run very well. Another modify for the noise and the differential healt is to shimming right the diff pinion gear. I solve in this way :-)

My slipper melted into the spur and it destroyed itself. Loosened the slipper and after half a pack is was to loose. Then tightened it half a turn more than before and it melted again but i caught it in time. A slash tranny will be much better. All i need is some drive cups and i will be dropping in the slash tranny

Can study together a good system to install the slash tranny on the mtdt.. tonight i disassemble my slash 4x4 to try. But I thing it's impossible because the slash slipper run on 2 big bearings and cannot wear on the mtdt tranny. But I try equally!! ;-)

Can you elaborate? What is wrong with the stock one? I've just not had any real trouble with it. The bearing areas were a bit sloppy, but that was solved with a bit of tape to fill the gap. I've got 3 of these trucks, and I've just not seen issues with that part.
