| ![]() i put a downpayment on the HPI Trophy 4x4 and from what im seeing...how could a guy go wrong with this kit?? also ordered the 1997 Toyota SC lexan for this rig already, should be in this next week. 200.00 and includes the electronics? i couldnt pass this deal up by an means but i do see there is no support for aftermarket parts on HPIs side? by the time im finished with this thing...itll probably be right up there with my Wraith being 98% hop-ups ![]() im sure Integy, STRC, etc, would make parts for this rig? cant wait to get my hands on it come monday morning! ![]() Not new to RCs but new to the forums... i likey! | ![]() I'd definitely recommend brushless.. It makes the thing an absolute blast to drive. The unfortunate thing about these trucks is there's very little aftermarket support for them.. The most I've found is aluminum hubs.. Good luck trying to break anything though.. These things seem nearly indestructible :) Sent from my iStone using Tapatalk |

| ![]() yea...finally got it a few days ago now and its built like a brick house....but then again....HPI is the #$!$ lol so far ive already installed a VXL3S i had laying around, very tight fit....had to remove the endcap from the motor. the ESC is physically mounted ontop the battery mount-bar (M3mm screws) and a HiTec HS645mg servo for the steering! on order: 97 Toyota Lexan (Ivan body) thing is a blast! i recommend this Truck to anyone!! **Note:** it is a PITA to work on but fun as hell! :D Question: I purchased a set of Axial 1.9 beadlock wheels for this thing knowing that i had to mod the back side of the rim due to the massive alloy hubs found on this truck but....it was a fail even after modding the inner lip of the beadlock ring and countersinking some screws into the wheels. so...with that being said, What wheels can i use for this truck (1.9 beadlock) that wont bind???? | ![]() thanks Gula, ill keep my eye open for something.... the Axial black 1.9's using the Mud country tires look HAWT but just dont work as mentioned above. As for pics...ill have some up of my rig the moment i recieve my 97 Toyota lexan. *1st run on this truck today* This truck is worth EVERY penny IMO!! for 200.00 which includes ALL electronics minus the batteries is a STEAL ,however.... the thing is built very stout in all aspects and takes a bashing without a single break!! Id like to get more Ooomph from it which i think will come using LiPo's (currently running stock spurgear and a 21t on the VXL3s) aswel as longer runtimes. Again....using a 3300MaH 7.2v stickpack which is fine for what it is but i have this craving for SPEED on this rig. lol The Servo.... (steering) im sure id had busted this stock one within 10minutes, but i could be wrong? never bothered using the thing! :P i slammed my HiTeC MG servo in it along with all my goodies knowing that brushed just doesnt cut it for me anymore. Other then that, steers on a dime! impressive!! Suspension.... Plush...need i say more? haha!! Fricking sweet and leans in corners like 1:1 Rollcage... with all the bracing on this cage, id have to say it was built well but...working on it....YOU NEED tiny hands!! LOL Pain to work on, but still one of my favorite rigs i have owned. Wheels/Tires... Wheels are cheezie IMO but im picky lol tires are Yokahama Geolanders (hard compound) and these are extremely detailed and very nice indeed! Probably the selling point^^ hehe!! Spare tires (rear) hollow and not functional, ill be slamming some real 1.9s in there too add weight seeing as this rig is front heavy on jumps. Lead weights might even assist the balance issues? Pics to come eventually. Last edited by SwampDawg; 03-09-2013 at 09:53 PM. |
