| So, I spent some time in the LHS looking for a possible tire and wheel combination that would work on the MDTT. I came to the conclusion pretty quickly that 1.9 size tires were going to be fairly limited. Seems like most of these are more for scale and/or crawlers. I came across one option that looks promising. The wheels are from an HPI RS4. These are 2.2 wheels, which opens the door to use some 2.2 4WD Front Wheels, which look like they will work perfectly. The offset of the wheels is just about right, but not good enough. So I think I'll need some longer hexs for the axles, probably no more than 3mm longer. The only option for longer hexs that I could compare in the shop were some Integrity units designed for SC10 conversion. However, they were only about 1mm longer than the stock units. The owner of the store turned me on to a local machinist club that does custom work for donations. I need to check it out, but it sounds promising. I'm going to see if I can get them to make some longer hexs for me. Here is a pic of the wheels. I'm looking at using the black ones. ![]() With the 1/10th scale buggy front wheels, they should have a look of like 20" wheels with low profile off road rubber. I'll let you know how it turns out. Might be a few weeks to get all of the necessary work done on the wheel hexs. ben |
