I saw one of these at the lhs this weekend and the employee originally thought it was hpi's 1/10 4wd sc offering. We went back and forth several times before he was convinced it was 1/8. When you look at it next to other 1/10 4wd sc's it's not that much bigger. And the track is only about .2" over ROAR limit. I'd say put some 12mm hexes and scte wheels on it and you'd be at the correct width. Then you look at the chassis and there's a big empty space in the back. Chop that out of there you'd be at 13.1" for a wheelbase. Then of course remove a battery and put in a smaller motor/esc. I bet this would be a better fit in the 1/10 category than 1/8. Anyone else have this feeling? Maybe HPI is just testing the waters w/ this.

Since its basically the exact same size as the sc8, there is no chance it would be ROAR legal. But, most tracks basically have sc 4x4 as an open class. Which would mean go for it. Also, if you have followed the Apache at all, you will also see that the sc8 rollcage and body fit perfectly on the Apache. Size comparison: Apache SC8e Width: 300mm 311mm Length: 620mm 616mm Wheelbase: 375mm 375mm The Apache is basically a stretched Vorza. So why dont you just make the Vorza a SC??????

I was looking at the C1 dimensions and was a bit suprised to see that it's no bigger than a Slash 4x4. I guess you are getting 1/8 durability and design.

The Apache SC may not be that much bigger than the normal 1/10th SC, but the extra weight swats the other trucks out of the way with no problem. On my backyard track my buddies and I race/bash for hours on end, and when it comes to fender to fender fun, the Slash 4X4, Jammin SCRT10, SC10 4X4, Blitz's,... they try but they can't muscle my Apache out of the way. The other RC's may be faster on the top end but that doesn't matter in the dirt. Torque and enough weight to get the traction seem's to be the edge that 1/8th scale has, not to mention durability.

Do you know what the Apache SC actually weighs?? I'm guessing the C1 and SC will be similar weights. | |

listen to blitzzak. if anyone thinks that the apache sc or c1 is "almost 1:10 scale" they might want reconsider. 1:8 vs 1:10 etc... is more than just this vehicle is so many inches long therefor its a certain scale. the apache not only has significantly larger components such as shocks, drivetrain, wheels, motor, chassis, etc... it weighs a LOT more. it weighs 10 lbs. as an entire package its more vehicle to contend with. and no matter how fast a 4 pound slash or blitz or sc10 is, its no match for 10 pounds of 40 mph mass landing on top of it or smashing into the side of it. dont kid yourselves, the apache's, and sc8's are definitely 1:8 scale vehicles. in fact because of the bumpers and bodies they use they are longer overall than a standard 1:8 scale buggy.
