Default Badger's HPI Apache SC Flux

The Apache SC out of the box it has more then enough power with the Flux brushless system on 4s lipo to easily do controlled drifts and even complete circle drifts on asphalt. In loose dirt it can be a handful because of the amount of power that is delivered to the hard compound stock Geolander tires which equates to a great time at your favorite bash spot. if you plan to race your Apache SC you'll want to get new tires because the stock tires do not provide nearly enough traction to compete with other sticker compound tires that most race with.

This truck is a beast that weighs in at 9 lb 10.80 oz with two 2s 5200Mah packs in it. The Apache SC is built well and definitely takes beating (video coming soon). Over jumps the rear end likes to kick up a lot which is probably from to much dampening in the front end.

Overall this truck is an absolute blast to drive on any surface and is a great addition to my SC stable.

I am working on the video of it driving at my local track and then beating the crap out of it on the track until it broke.

The battery tray is fully adjustable in both length and width to fit just about any battery you have.

The Kypom packs required some trimming of the battery tray to allow for the batter terminals to fit without being pinched.

I'm trying out some new Kypom K6 40C 2S 5200Mah packs that I got from TGN Distributing

Great pictures, well done. Can you show me the other side of the motor mount?

I am very excited to see your video coverage.

Thanks for sharing John.

Awesome that's the best pics I've seen of it and can't wait, mine is suppose to be here tomorrow. But batteries are a day behind. Let me know how those batteries do cuz I bought lower output one because of the recommendation.

Nice Badger. Ya, add some pre load to the front shocks to see if the rear will stop bucking. The 112mm rear shocks look like a good idea.

Here's a tip to Apache SC owners: Before doing serious racing, put threadlock on the screws that hold the motor mount to the chassis. They do not appear to be threadlocked from the factory and they may come loose or fall out on the track while racing. We learned the hard way after the whole motor mount came loose and the motor lost gear mesh. Fortunately since we were running on asphalt, the screw was easily located and we were able to tighten everything back up right away.

Do you guys think it would be possible to convert the Apache SC into a C1 once the body and bumpers are available?

Good shots of the truck, those A-arms look pretty beefy, I like the cover on them.

Ya looks like you'd just need to swap the body mounts out, and the front and rear skids (bumpers). The rear on the c1 looks more involved with the attached rear wheel.

I dont want to hijack badgers thread with pics of the c1. You can look at a few on HPI: ::HPI RACING:: - Apache C1 Flux

thanks. im new here and dont want to ask the wrong questions in the wrong forum. was hoping since badger actually has the truck he or someone like yourself might know. i figure since the truck is available now why not buy it and then get the parts for converting when the buggy comes out. that way i dont have to wait til march or april.

Well, was looking good until about half way through. Did you have a driver change??? My god, cant lay off the throttle on those jumps! Jumping into a cement wall, smart.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I know from driving mine you can't let off any. Or she dives like a dolphin. I broke my rear body mount to. Have you found where to buy beside hpi europe?

I think he was bashing on purpose the second half of the video.....he drove too well and knew what he was doing in the first half too make those mistakes he made in the second half.....testing the durability I imagine.....The wall bashing had to be on purpose, he went straight into it.....It did look like it handled pretty well when he was racing in the beginning.

Great vid! It looks almost bash-proof. Those stocktires seemed to handle the track fairly well. I wonder how the SC8 would handle that kind of carnage? That reminds me of the 24 hour SC8 test. Anyone planning on a simliar test for the Apache?
