HPI has some in stock: ::HPI RACING:: Replacement Parts - #107104 Apache SC Flux

There were a bunch of parts on ebay like a week ago. But I dont see them now. Looked like parted out kits. I'd keep checking or see if HPI can get you them.

That's exactly what I was doing. I thought about adding text to the middle of the video when I switched to the durability part but I thought it would be self explanatory.

I actually wasn't driving, a friend at NorCal Hobbies drove for me so I could shoot the video. After a little while I told him to break it and then after numerous big crashes that didn't phase it I told him to drive it into the concrete wall. :)

This is definitely one tough truck and with the sc8 cage mounted I don't think it would have broke the rear body mount.

i think any truck or buggy would break from hitting the wall like that. That's brutal. Otherwise that is some pretty big air over the triples and what not.

Great test Badger! Push it to the limit, then push a little more... That wall reminds me of the wall that surrounded the FOB that I was stationed at during my tour in Iraq. It'll stop ANYTHING!! I say do it for 24hrs straight... just for good measure.

Hey Freelanceshots, how do you think an SC8 would hold up under those conditions = severe carnage. I'm still on the edge, Apache or SC8

It looks to be just as tough as the SC8, I've taken some serious tumbles with my SC8, and the only thing I've ever broken was the front bumper......BUT, I never drove it into a wall....LOL.....It did however accidentally lawn dart several times into a huge double when I first bought it and ended up breaking the pipe holder once....but that's it......That roll cage saves the truck alot!!.....it protects the body and everything on the truck, I always run with it on.....I would suggest it be put on the Apache as well....

Can you replace the solid links with adjustable ones?

Blitzzak,

I can't even imaging what the outcome would be with the SC8e because that will hopefully never happen to mine unless AE sends me one to crash test. I'd have nightmares seeing that slow motion part again and again. With the T-bone bumper installed the bumper would take everything that wall had but you might tweak the suspension arm where if the arm broke away then you could bend the CVA bone and stress your servo at the least. From looking and working on the SC8e I'd have to say in stock form the SC8e uses front metal steering blocks which are dinosaur like and the caster blocks even tough they are made of plastic are pretty large and thick. The SC8's front suspension area is built as about as tough as they could make it, so it should hold up to just about anything realistic that you could throw at it. The added benefits of metal steering blocks and metal shock caps would be something that I would consider needing to be upgraded soon which means you are spending more money for an already expensive toy. If and when they make a T-Bone front bumper I'd break down and get one of those too. As far as the future purchase, just add up the cost of the truck with the added rollcage, shock caps, adjustable turnbuckles, steering blocks and then figure out what it will cost compared to the SC8e and what you are wanting to spend.

Wow.....that makes the SC8e a better bargain by far then, not to mention that you get the full castle version of the MMP and 2200 Kv motor system....I'm about to get the SC8e RTR for $555 with the AMain sale and coupon....HELLUVA DEAL!!!!.....I'm just adding the DE RACING skid plate, Mud Guards, and T-BONE front bumper for $34 more.....

Don't get me wrong, I like the Apache SC too, and I'm glad it's out, but for my money, the SC8e RTR is the better deal....

T3GT that does sound like a good deal with no tax. Either truck will be nice to have where they will pay for themselves quickly with the added fun factor and low maintenance.

The Vorza, Ve8, or D8 ones should do just fine.

that truck looks really cool. love the bottom view of the arms

HPI stuff is bullet proof

AE not so much besides the sc8 i guess which is made for bashers

my cash would go to the HPI anyday for a truck just to bash

Most 4x4 SC classes are open classes. Might as well sign her up.

The more I look at the Apache the more I like the a-arms and the front of the truck. Looks pretty freeking realistic like a real baja truck. The apache was throwing down on that track at the beginning of the vid.
