Default Lipo battery storage.

Hey all, just reading some xtreme rc cars mag and they said something about battery storage?

I run my stuff either every weekend, or every weekend. When I am done, I leave my 2S lipo's uncharged most of the time, same with my 3S, but always balance charge my 4S.

A few of my blue lipo 2S lipo have at least 125 cycles each.

Am I alright with storing them "dead" ? Or should I charge them when the trucks go to the shelves? Thanks

If you mean dead as in you ran 1 5 to 8 minute run on the pack then pulled it from the truck and put it away then no your just fine doing that. I've went 3 weeks with no issues. Now if you're not going to be away for 2+ months then the best option is to storage charge your packs and check voltage every 3 months, repeat as needed.

I run for 15-20mins at a time, then when my LVC kicks in...then they go to the shelf. LOL, nothin of mine sits for over a week.

You might want to give them a short charge to bring the voltage up to about half charge just to be safe. Usually a lipos voltage will rebound some but not a whole lot.

you don't want to hit LVC all the time and you want to store them around 7-7.4v which as stated above put them on the charger for a couple of min.

Sounds like you run once a week bash sessions. I run 5-7 minutes at a time and will usually recharge after every heat unless I can bump up from a lower main then and only then will my packs see a little lower voltage. I almost always have more then 50% left in my packs when I leave the track and they stay that way until the next time I go back which is usually 1 to 2 weeks.
