Default Badger's Axial EXO Terra Buggy RTR powered by Castle

I got a surprised today when the little brown truck dropped off the new Axial EXO Terra Buggy RTR powered by a Castle Creations 2900 Vanguard brushless motor and ESC.

This is going to be fun because Axial sent me all their EXO option parts a couple weeks ago which will be perfect for this build. I also got the MadDogRC - EXO Double 4" Light Bar Kit that will be installed.

And.. The biggest question: radiator and light-bar in it? The site mentions the radiator, but leaves the buyer in the dark about the rest of the scale-goodies that the kit has.

Really curious what kinda temps the ESC/Motor will see even though I know they'll be better w/o an interior.

This looks fantastic, I've been following up with the Axial EXO Terra Buggy RTR since I saw it on their site. Do you possibly know the release date of this? Tower hobbies has a estimated date of mid July. I hope that's right because that's right around my birthday!

I'll tear into the extra bags it came with tonight and let you know if it comes with it.

With the motor being a 540 can I can only imagine it would heat up with the interior installed. Although with it being a really low KV of 2900, it might be a lot better then a typical 540 motor.

I don't know when it will be released, I'm sure if someone from Axial is allowed to give out that info they will post up.

I think the radio is a repackaged Flysky GT2 same as the recent Axial Ridgecrest RTR. In a video review for that one they said it was but the wheel felt slightly nicer.

It does come with the radiator but it does not have the light bar or the other scale items like guns and sand ladder. The other thing it doesn't come with is an interior, which I think was smart based on their decision to go with a 540 sized motor instead of a 550.

It comes with Axial's AX-3 2.4GHz transmitter, same radio in the RTR Wraith and Ridgecrest and probably every other newer RTR Axial model.

I think a bare-bones version of the EXO is pretty cool. Im very curious to see if the rtr esc is just a rebranded SV2 or if there really is a difference between this one and the regular SV2 (reason why im wondering is the SV2 isnt 3s capable in the kit version exo. Maybe its fine in this leaned-out bare-bones version)

No interior and no lightbar.. Hmm.. I guess they tried to lower the price as much as possible. Shame.

I am happy that I chose the kit.

On the other hand, the light-bar is one of those parts that is destined to get trashed in the hands of those customers that the RTR is aimed at.

And with that smallish motor, leaving out the interior makes sense too. Axial obviously went for "idiotensicher" with the RTR.

I ripped out my interior at least for now while I am still tuning it. I am messing with stuff too much and I can get to most things I need without taking the roll cage off.

My Exo just turned up, love this buggy now to find a battery.
I see it comes with a spare engine mount.
