Default Bgr Fabrications Exo Buggy

Check this out! Let me know what you guys think, the bumper is made of 1/4'' rd. 4130 D.o.m .065 wall and the A arm bracket to mount it is billet aluminum.

very nice!!!

i love it, don't get me wrong, but.....

lets hope it stands up to the abuse.

i do see some issues, though.
you are transferring the impact force into the chassis and not the bumper (how it was designed)

without some sort of "flex" to the front, you may strip the front dif from the chassis

i have already sheared a screw off that holds the wing on. anything stronger might snap the frame....be careful back there

Pretty neat, but I have the same concern as Sockmonkey. The deformable bumper is now a deformable chassis/front bulkhead.

Just curious, how do you have the rear wing end plates attached? I don't see weld or screws.

Wouldn't paddles on the front be more effective with the 4wd system..?

Yeah, i had the parts all waterjet, and added locating slots on the side, so that they come out exactly the same, and yes they are tigwelded, than ground to a finish, also there is a 1/2'' of weld on the bottom, in which you cant see, unless i pull the wing off!!

How are you liking the paddles so far? How would you gauge the dig/float of them on an EXO?

I'm looking into a set and am up in the air about the SC width paddles being wide enough. I'm probably a lb or so heavier than you though.

I've never driven an RC with a center diff, so I might be wrong.

But won't the diff just unload all the power to the front ribbed tires that have less traction than the rears?

The Exo was my first rc with a center diff. I kinda expected the same. But as I found out wednesday it'll do crazy power wheelies on asphalt with the standard center diff oil.

If for some strange reason it does unload it all to the front just run thicker oil! Or put silly putty in the diff.

I got with BGR (Bill) and ordered a rear wing and front bumper.

I will let you guys know, BGR does some of the best fab work I've seen. I own a BGR Trailbar front bumper, and a set of his rock sliders (V3) for my Wraith - they are awesome!!! All of BGR's parts fit like a glove, and some of the best TIG welding I've seen (and I can weld, so I know what I'm looking at) I'm a huge BGR fan - Bill does excellent work!
So, if any of you have any doubts or question BGR's fab work - Don't! Bill does extraordinary work and an awesome guy to do business with!
BGR gets a ton of business on the rccrawler forum.

Bill's rear wing is nothing short of badass! Can't wait to get my wing and bumper!
