Default Mip thread!!!!!

Hi guys, this is Matt over at Moore's Ideal Products better known as MIP. I would like to start a new MIP based thread so I can get some feedback about our products. The good, the bad, and everything in-between, bring it all on ! I'm the customer service/ tech guy over here so if you have any questions, or need help, make sure to hit me up.

We also have a couple new products in the works, the first of which is our Realshocks Bypass 1 product. Check out Velocity RC Magazine's vid for a detailed overview with Eustace Moore (MIP Owner).

Are you guys having problems with the drives on these buggies as well? Is there an apparent need?

visit vrcmag.com for the vid

Enjoy!

Regards,

Matt

A full set of CVDs would be awesome, front, rear, and centers.

Great idea on this tread MIP.

I'm a custom builder of the scale rock crawlers and would like to beable to buy exact length drive shafts. Not just some honcho shafts and hope they work.

Here is what I just did to a brand new set of your drive shafts.
I had to cut them( not much room for that)then braze them back with a carbon steel tube.

Here it is all cleaned and back together.

Some othere way would be great.

Sweet, Glad to see MIP have a presence here. Of course we want some MIP's for our EXO's just not sure we need the X-Duty design for them with all those small pieces they need.

Not going to lie, I had a lot of issues with X-Duties on my slash 4x4, I DESPISE that set-screw design. If there was a different way they would be 100x better

Good to see all the chatter Ima see if we can get a car over here to mock up some parts. Are you guys original parts failing or just sloppy?

Also on your Slash 4x4 we haven't had much of a problem with the set screws. Its a great because it never creates slop, doesn't snap pins, and leaves the Nub on the outdrive fresh. If you do want a solid pin a revo pin works

My pins were either: getting snapped, or coming out. There was no perfect middle... I had gone through 4 pins (I only had rear x-duties) before I sold the slash. The first one broke from a 40ft long jump, and the following 3 were all from normal landing at the track. I found myself on 3WD in my first ever race :(

Oh, you know, we just want it all.

Pin sleeve retainers, so no setscrews is a must.

If your totally against that option, at least double tap the inner cylinder so we can double up the setscrews.

Dogbone joints suck for high speed usage, period.

A silicone miniature CV boot to retain grease and extend service life.

The ability to operate freely to at least 42* preferably more

Personally, I'd like to see grease fittings that take a needle fitting so that the joints and slip splines could be regularly greased without dissasembly, but I might be taking it too far.

The 40ft jump might have done it ... and for the other ones it shouldn't have happened but it does occur from time to time. It takes alot of force to snap a 2.3 x 16 mm solid pin so you must have been putting them through there paces hah. Many times you could have damaged them from bashing ect and then they finally gave. Also if your set screw backed off they may have slipped a tad, and when that happens, it only has one point of connection and will snap itself inside the cup because it'll lock up.

that's what was happening, but 2 of the ones that broke/fell out at the track were never bashed and were installed 24-36 hours prior.
whatever though, I'm just not a fan of the set screws. everything else was flawless
