Team C TM2SC 2wd Short Course

Team C has let out more photos of the new TM2Sc. The images don’t reveal a whole lot more apart from the confirmation that the car will accept a regular stick pack down the right side of the chassis and that there is an all new motor mount developed for this new chassis. Team C also showed off the car’s new body shell.

JConcepts is quick to market the first aftermarket body for the popular Team Associated SC10B vehicle.

Escape to a place where short course buggies are the leading entry into the world of Short Course racing. Introducing the Escape body by JConcepts, specifically designed for the newly released Team Associated SC10B vehicle. Breaking into the world of Short Course buggy racing, JConcepts has stepped up with the first aftermarket body designed around the new high-energy vehicle. It’s not a buggy unless it jumps, steers and feels precise and JConcepts has not left the Escape body alone in its attention to performance detail.

The first thing noticed on the Escape is its narrowed front-end which tucks nicely against the chassis geometry. The increased front tuck tightens up the large gap in-between the chassis and stock SC10B body making the Escape a superior jumping body with its first heavy detail. Just above the tucked portion, in front of the cock-pit area, rests a reverse scoop giving an area to trim for more air-relief. A small ledge entering the cab guides the air slightly further than the original body while the main side-pods have chiseled ducts which wrap around the bolt-on plastic caging. Just behind the roll-cage area, number plates are built into the body giving the body a slightly raked look and appropriate place for small racing numbers.

The rear bolt-on fenders skirt the rear of body slightly more than stock, allowing the Escape to flow front to back as a pure racing inspired body. In addition, each Escape body includes a ground-up JConcepts driver pit which highlights control panels, shifting exploits and a suited up race driver which features seat-belt and suit details. The rear of the driver pit places a raised panel section emulating an engine compartment with cooling bits scattered across to bring excess realism to the body.

Finish off the Escape body and driver pit with included Escape decal sheet and complete the driver pit by installing the (not included) stock AE helmet to the JC driver pit. Bolt-on the body to AE roll-cage (not included) to complete the assembly and drop-on the Escape body to show off the latest in JConcepts Short Course buggy design and development. Escape the rest, JConcepts is best.

AKA short course tire lineup get an update

AKA has officially announced that their short course tire line just got wider. After the release of the Handlebar on the new wider carcass, they now have the Enduro 2, Cityblock 2, Handlebar STD and Wishbone 2, all on the wider carcass. Each tire has a bigger footprint to create more traction while staying in spec with the 2.2/3.0 short course tire specifications. The Handlebar STD (Standard Tread Depth) features a taller pin height ideal for hard packed or blue-groove outdoor tracks, while the already released Handlebar tackles the indoor tracks with its Low Tread Depth. The Wishbone 2 has been updated with a denser tread pattern for more traction and longer tire wear, ideal for indoor tracks. The Enduro 2 maintains its bestselling tread pattern and tread density while the Cityblock 2 has been opened up a bit to allow the tire tread to dig in deeper while still having superior wear characteristics. AKA have also updated their short course inserts which feature an asymmetrical core to add additional support to the outer sidewall of SC tires. These have been designed to fit perfectly into the new wider short course tire line but will fit other tires as well. Available in both of AKA’s industry standard closed-cell foams, Red (Soft) and Black (Medium).

JConcepts introduces a stylish, durable and lightweight alternative Titanium turnbuckle kit for the popular Team Associated vehicles.

JConcepts is Titanium with the introduction of the Fin turnbuckle sets designed specifically for style, durability and performance. The base of the shafts design is centered around a .143” titanium hex size which gradually tapers down into a 3mm thread base design which accepts standard JC and AE ball-cup configurations. The focus of the styling surrounds the lengthened adjustment hex area and the “finned” cuts that rotate about the center. The fin turnbuckles are lightweight and the original design brings out the glamour and quality that makes titanium one of the most sought after exotic materials in the world. The JConcepts turnbuckles are produced with left and right hand threads with the left being conveniently marked for easy orientation.

Exotek DESC210 : Alloy steering knuckles and carbon fiber battery strap

Two new parts from Exotek for the DESC210, Steering knuckles and carbon fiber battery strap. The hubs are machined from 7075 alloy, they reduce bump steer without the need for shims. They have an alternate ball location for reduced ackerman, multiple tie rod mounting locations for increased steering throw and extra holes at the bearings to adjust bearing slack with set screws. The battery strap, made out of carbon fiber, will fit both the DIMEC and alloy chassis. Works with full or shorty packs.

Exotek Racing introduce new option parts for the Team Associated SC10 4×4 truck in the form of blue anodized aluminium shock caps and shock collars. Starting with the caps, these are made from CNC-machined alloy and sport a heavy duty design to cope with the rigors of short course racing. Available blue anodized and sporting a polished finish the four piece set includes rubber O-rings for worry free bleeder screw sealing. Also new is a four piece set of shock collars. The notched design makes for easy adjustment reference while the large serrated section makes adjusting the spring preload a breeze. They come anodized blue and include rubber O-rings to retain the shock setting.

AKA Handlebar SC Tire

The Handlebar is an indoor low-profile tread patterns feature minimal tread height for speed, stability and traction on hard-packed surfaces. The leading and trailing edges of the treads have been rounded to minimize break-in time while AKA’s proprietary compounds provide low tire wear. Featuring a network of straight and angled bars along the edges of the tread, with short lugs in the center for extra forward bite, the Handlebar is aimed at grooved and groomed surfaces; when made of AKA’s recently announced Clay compound, it should prove a lethal combination for indoor tracks. According to AKA’s Gil Losi Jr., the new tire’s design was a function of wanting to create a tire that looked different than similar offerings from competitors, while still capitalizing on what has been proven to work in those situations. Losi mentioned that the tire, shown here in prototype, could still undergo a few revisions to its inner carcass webbing or other changes before production. The Handlebar is the first of AKA’s new wide tires, a trend among manufacturers for classes like short course racing, and will include a new foam insert designed to fill the extra width.
