Erik Shauver is one of the lead engineers and designers at HPI Racing and was the man behind the original Blitz short course truck. Well Erik surprised us last week with a new version called the Blitz ESE, or Extra Special Edition. Erik spills the beans on some of the design elements that went into the new truck, why it looks so different and what these changes should mean to the on-track performance. We also delve into his past as a 4WD Sedan Carpet Oval racer… definitely worth a few laughs. Read the rest of this entry »

For those of you with a Baja 5T, one thing that is a constant PITA for most of us is broken shock rod ends. The T weighs in several pounds heavier than the buggy, but still utilizes the same suspension components, so….. some stronger bits are in order.
The first is the shock shafts with aluminum rod ends. This unique aluminum rod end is a 4 piece design consisting of the aluminum housing and a rubber bushing with 2 aluminum flanged spacers to allow for misalignment of the shock through it’s articulation. This system is very strong, so no more broken off shock ends, but will require regular inspection and maintenance to ensure proper performance, however, the rod end is completely, and inexpensively rebuildable. Short course trucks have become class leaders at many tracks around the nation. What’s more is there’s a class for everyone. Stock class requires you to run stock tires while mod classes pretty much allow you to run whatever you want. Well, for those of you that want the most out of your short courser, the 1:8 superstar Caliber tread design is ready for you to leave stock in the dirt.

Leave a mark with your 5T wherever you are with Pro-Line’s Trencher tires. The Trencher tires are designed to give your 5T optimal traction on just about any surface. Super cool horizontal H shaped treads give your 5T ridiculous amounts of forward bite. And tread height and ¼” tall, you’ll find that durability and longevity are second to none.

Looking to protect your investment both inside and out? Then check out Pro-Line’s undertray for the Traxxas Slash®.

Looking for an aftermarket Slash® bumper to withstand the test of time? Pro-Line’s got your back with an extremely durable stock replacement bumper.
For those looking for better handling and a wider tire selection for their Associated SC10, AKA is happy to announce the release of their 1:8 wheel adapters for the Associated SC10 truck. Made from 7075 aluminum and hard anodized, these wheel adapters are a great addition to any SC10. These adapters come with all necessary pieces for use and include AKA “SureGrip” 17mm nuts to keep the wheels securely on the hubs. The adapters install in just minutes and require zero modifications to the truck. The stock width and steering radius are kept in tact. Improve your tire choice and handling by getting a set of AKA SC10 1:8 Wheel Adapters. All popular 1:8 buggy wheels can be used including Associated SC8 wheels.
When racing on a loamy or top soil track surface the inside of the SC10 chassis can become loaded with dirt or debris which creates extra weight. With the JConcepts over-tray these worries are minimized with the simple and functional over-tray. Fitting nicely under the body; the JConcepts over-tray hugs the outside dimension of the SC10 chassis protecting the inside from unwanted excess dirt and debris build-up during racing conditions. By minimizing resting surface area the void and protrusion free design is all about performance. Read the rest of this entry »
